Wildlife trees are individual trees that provide shelter, space, food or water for wildlife. Wildlife Trees of British Columbia provides adaptable activities and information for teaching about the characteristics, identification, ecology, special status, and conservation of these important trees.

The Wildlife Trees of British Columbia workshop will take you on an in-depth tour of the tree species and characteristics that create wildlife trees. Providing shelter, food, water and space for plants and animals, wildlife trees are an essential part of the forest and deserve special recognition for the important role they play in the ecosystem. Educators will have the opportunity to sample the interactive activities provided in the manual, as well as learn important background information. Participants will leave the workshop able to identify wildlife trees, understand their ecological values and feel ready to begin teaching about wildlife trees.
