Leap Into Action!

Grade Level: K-12
Cost of Workshop: See the 2011 Workshop Rates [39 KB - PDF] for more information. Includes Teacher Guide
Length of Workshop: min 3.5 hours
Action projects make learning relevant, alive and real. They enhance creative and critical thinking skills, and empower students in taking responsible action on issues and problems that affect them and their community. Action projects also integrate diverse subject areas through a real world context, and connect students to their broader community. Leap Into Action will help you do all that!
In this workshop, participants will review the current research on action education, participate in some activities, and explore new techniques and ideas on how to lead learners to action through using a new learning resource, Leap into Action!, recently developed with the BC Conservation Foundation and Wild BC. Students, teachers and community leaders will be re-inspired to lead others to action!
