The Forests in Focus Educator’s Activity Guide features 40 dynamic, hands-on activities and lab-style investigations that explore forest ecology. Creative forest stories will take you on a journey of learning about British Columbia’s forests and the species found within each ecosystem. A well laid-out set of appendices features 17 useful resources for teaching about forests including endangered species lists, maps and teaching strategies.
The Forests in Focus workshop presents an invaluable opportunity to get know more about BC’s forests, their diverse values and our dependence on them. Whether you live in an urban or a rural setting, you will find this workshop full of ideas you can easily use to teach about forests and forest ecology. Throughout the training session you will be able to participate in a range of learning experiences about forests such as plant biology, tree identification, ecosystem characteristics, and general introduction to the forests in British Columbia. Workshops are focused on forest ecology.
