Climate Change Impacts and Adaptations Flash Movies

FutureThinkBC  has developed a series of flash movies that you can  watch and listen to what scientists propose we do to prepare for these impacts of climate change, and what communities in B.C. are doing to prepare for an uncertain future. Using case studies from Vanderhoof, the Okanagan and Delta, the following presentation explore how communities are responding to 3 significant impacts of climate change in the province:

Changes in Forest Ecosystems and the Mountain Pine Beetle Infestation (Vanderhoof)

  • Preparing for Forest Change
  • Crazy Climate and Beetle Booms
  • Assisted Migration

Depleting Water Supplies (Okanagan)

  • Heating Up and Drying Out
  • Drip Dry
  • Adapting to Less Water

Rising Sea Levels (Delta)

  • Preparing for High Water
  • Rising or Falling
  • Surf's Up
